ACCOMPLISHMENTS FOR THE YEAR (2011-2012)

Healthy & Secure Infants:

Eleven (11) Supervised Neighborhood Play (SNP) sites were established

Twenty five (25) Parent Volunteers/Facilitators attended the five (5) sessions of Supervised Neighborhood Play Refresher Training Course.

One hundred ninety-four (194) under 5 children participated in SNP sessions conducted on a thrice weekly sessions withiin nine (9) months

Four (4) Day Care Centers (DCCs) supported with learning materials

Thirty-three (33) children assisted in Day Care Center

Twenty-six (26) parent volunteers attended Pabasa Sa  Nutrisyon (PSN) Refresher course

Three hundred three (303) mothers/caregivers participated in PSN sessions (Nutrition Classes) in fourteen (14) areas, 205 of them completed the 10 sessions provided by trained parent volunteers

One hundred (149) mothers/caregivers attended Integrated Management of Children Illnesses (IMCI) seminars and consultations

Fifty-two (52) couples participated in Parents Effectiveness Sessions (PES)

Three (3) health centers supported with medical supplies

Printed Early Childhood Care & Development (ECCD) checklist for use of SNP & DCC teachers

Parent volunteers on PSN & SNP conducted monthly meetings for monitoring & evaluation

 

EDUCATED & CONFIDENT CHILDREN

 

Six hundred thirty-three (633) children were promoted to the next grade level

Seventy (70) of 102 children identified and assessed with subject difficulties completed the tutorial sessions provided by teachers from the two (2) partner child friendly schools.

Six hundred forty-seven (647) elementary pupils and ninety-five (95) first & second year high schools students were provided with school supplies, school fees and project allowances. Additional support was provided to 113 children who were assessed as at-risk of dropping-out.

One thousand two hundred nine (1,209) children ages 6-14 in eleven covered communities participated in various Sponsor Relations-Child Development (SR-CD) activities locally known as Sabado KLASE (Saturday Kids Learning Activities and Skills Enhancement)

Thirty-nine (39) children officers and potential leaders attended the training on Facilitation and Documentation that resulted to the composition of twenty (28) children facilitators for Sabado KLASE

Six (6) Children Associations strengthened with thirty-seven officers attending quarterly meetings

Forty-four (44) officers of the children associations and potential leaders participated in the leadership, team building sessions and organizational capacity assessment (OCA)

Six (6) children officers represented their respective associations to the island wide cluster conference

Five hundred twenty-six (526) children attended the Children’s month and another six hundred thirty-one (631) children participated in Sponsor’s Thanksgiving Day.

Sixty (60) children and 7 youth, including theatre arts (Teatro Bu-Bot) and rondalla choir, performed for ChildFund ambassador David Archuleta during his community visit facilitated by ChildFund Philippines.

Six hundred eleven (611) and fifty-five (55) children in eleven covered areas attended the orientation on education policies and child protection policy.

Forty-eight (48) children joined the auditions for theatre arts & choir group resulting to the formation of Teatro Bu-Bot (Children’s Theatre) with 16 actors/actresses & Rondalla Guitar Choir with 18 performers

Fourteen (14) members of Rondalla Guitar Choir performed in NCR Rondalla Festival and to the alumni homecoming of a state university.

Eighty (80) teachers from partner child friendly schools were provided with training on child sensitive teaching & child participation and management of child abuse cases.

Seventy-six (76) children attended orientation on savings association and management that resulted to the formation of three (3) savings group with 56 children regularly pledge savings on a weekly basis.

 

SKILLED & INVOLVED YOUTH

 

Ninety-five (95) youth ages 15 and above attended Youth Development Sessions (YDS)

Sixty (60) third & fourth year high school students were promoted to next grade levels

Sixty-eight (68) third & fourth year high school students were provided with school supplies, school fees and project allowances

Six (6) vocational technology students were provided training fees and seven (7) graduating tertiary youth were provided with final registration fees

Twenty-three (23) fourth year high school participated in Career Guidance orientation provided by Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Technical Education & Skills Development (TESDA)

Fifty-six (56) high school youth attended the Life Skills training provided by local Red Cross Chapter, a similar training was participated by 23 youth in Barangay 201 and facilitated by a partner spiritual leader

Seventeen (17) youth involved in the establishment of Gems Youth Association COMPRINT: Print for a Cause project, a youth enterprise offering silk-screen and digital prints for t-shirts and coffee mugs.

Twenty-five (25) youth attended free advance silk-screen printing from the office of the Vice-Mayor.

Three (3) Barangay Youth Associations and Project level youth association strengthened with officers conducting quarterly meetings.

Six (6) youth officers represented their respective associations to the island wide cluster conference

Thirty-three (33) out-of-school children & youth attended the sessions of Alternative Learning System (ALS) in the ALS Center provided by the partner local government unit in one covered area.

Eighty-four (84) high school youth attended the training on Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH) and Protective Sexual Behavior

Nine (9) youth leaders participated in Project Proposal & Resource Mobilization trainings.

Thirty-five (35) youth were engaged in voluntary savings associations & regularly pledge savings weekly

Seven (7) youth participated in Quarterly Project Assessment & Review

Seventeen (17) youth trained on facilitation and documentation conducted SR-CD sessions to children or Sabado KLASE

Twenty-three (23) out of school youth were referred to Public Employment Service Office (PESO) for employment training by TESDA.

 

 

 

 

 

 

NETWORKS FOR CHILD PROTECTION AND DEVELOPMENT

 

Four hundred forty-two (442) parents attended the General Assembly & election of officers.

Fifteen (15) newly elected officers were inducted by the Congresswoman of Pasay City.

Seventeen (17) newly elected officers of the Parent Association attended the orientation on Volunteers Development and Management

Thirteen (13) parent officers participated in the organizational capacity assessment (OCA) and review of the vision, mission, goals (VMG) & constitution and by-laws (CBL) of the parent association.

Nineteen (19) officers and key leaders of the Parent Association participated in Project Proposal and Resource Mobilization training

Parent Association’s registration to Securities & Exchange Commission was renewed.

Twenty (20) parent leaders of the CPO attended the Quarterly Project Assessment Review

Forty (40) parent officers and key leaders participated in the orientation on Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Committee (BDRRMC) and Kindergarten to Grade Twelve education program. A similar training was provided to 12 parent leaders and nine local government unit (LGU) officers of Barangay 201.

Fifty-seven (57) parents attended the Sponsor’s Thanksgiving Day

Two hundred thirty-five (235) parents of newly enrolled children were provided orientation on Sponsor Relations (SR) and Creative Letter writing

Eighteen (18) parent volunteers on SR conducted regular meeting quarterly

Sixty-eight (68) parent volunteer conducted Child Verification Status (CVS) in 11 covered areas

Fourteen (14) parents of graduating high school students provided with orientation on Vocational Technical Education Training (TVET) program.

Eight (8) community managed savings & credit associations (CoMSCA) were formed and 160 parent members regularly pledge savings on a weekly basis.

Six (6) parent officers participated in Area Office initiated activities on Child Verification Status seminar & Mid-Year Accomplishment Assessment with counterpart children/youth

Established partnerships and networks with LGUs and line agencies (DepEd Pasay, MMES, KES, PCNPC, Brgy. 143 & 177 BCPC, DSWD, Pasay Health Office & 3 local health units, Red Cross Chapter, Pasay Rescue and Dept. of Agriculture)

Two (2) Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) renewed and one (1) newly signed
